The 'Pepinka Zolotysta' apple variety, developed by the L.P. Simirenko Institute of Pomology, is engineered for stable production in the temperate climate of Ukraine. The tree is medium-sized with a flat-round crown structure, which significantly simplifies pruning and harvesting operations.

Disease resistance and phytosanitary status

A primary technical advantage of this variety is its genetic resistance to apple scab, the most common pathogen in apple orchards. Furthermore, it exhibits strong tolerance to powdery mildew. This phytosanitary resilience minimizes the need for heavy fungicide applications, making it an excellent candidate for integrated pest management systems.

Fruit quality and storage logistics

The fruits reach 150–200 grams and feature a distinct rounded shape. The skin is yellow-green, accented by a subtle, diffuse blush. The flesh is white, dense, and possesses the typical dessert quality of an autumn apple. In terms of logistics, the variety offers a storage life of 2–3 months, fitting perfectly into the mid-term autumn supply chain. High winter hardiness ensures the tree can withstand temperature fluctuations and severe cold, minimizing the risk of crop loss in adverse climate conditions.
