Description
The Kubanochka apple variety is a winter variety bred in Russia and adapted for cultivation in southern regions of the country. The tree is medium-sized or strongly growing with a dense spherical or wide-oval crown, branches directed upwards. Fruiting is mixed; fruits form on spurs, spurlets, and shoots of different lengths, as well as on one-year-old shoots. The variety enters fruiting in the 2nd-3rd year after planting and is characterized by high and regular yield, making it a popular choice among gardeners and agronomists.
Kubanochka fruits are large, weighing 220–240 grams, widely round in shape with a greenish-red color. The flesh is white, dense, finely grained, juicy with a harmonious sweet-and-sour taste. Apples are harvested from the tree in the first half of October, they store well for up to 6 months, which allows their use during the winter period.
The variety has high resistance to scab and powdery mildew, is frost-hardy and drought-tolerant. Thanks to these qualities and the ability to intensive cultivation technologies, Kubanochka is suitable for growing in various climatic conditions, ensuring a stable and high-quality yield.
