The «Milana» apple variety is a selection developed by the M.M. Gryshko National Botanical Garden of the NAS of Ukraine. This cultivar is optimized for intensive orchard management, where tree size control is a critical factor for efficiency. Its low-vigor growth habit significantly reduces pruning labor and simplifies the harvesting process.

Fruit technical specifications

As an autumn-ripening variety, «Milana» features specific harvest windows and consumption maturity. The round-cylindrical geometry of the fruit provides structural stability during transit, minimizing mechanical damage during post-harvest handling.

• Weight range: 100–150 grams, meeting standard retail requirements for fresh consumption.
• Color profile: a yellowish-green base with a distinct red blush, which enhances visual marketability.
• Flesh: yellowish-white, with moderate density.

The tree's spreading crown requires specific pruning strategies to maintain optimal light penetration and airflow. This technical approach is essential for preventing fungal diseases and ensuring uniform fruit coloration.
