Description
Variety selected by Saratov State Agrarian University named after N. I. Vavilov and Saratov Experimental Garden Station, obtained by crossing Welles and Volga Renet. Breeders G. V. Kondratyeva, I. K. Fomina.
Accepted for State Variety Testing in the Volga region and Central part of the Russian Federation since 1997. Widely grown in specialized, farm, and private garden plots in Saratov and Volgograd regions.
Medium growth vigor tree, spreading crown, weakly dense, moderate leafiness. Mixed fruiting type (fruits borne on spurs, shoots, and fruiting branches).
Shoots straight, round in cross-section, brownish-brown, slightly hairy. Leaves medium-sized, oval-shaped, dark green, with serrated edges.
Flowers medium-sized, petals broadly egg-shaped and oval, with medium and small stamens.
Fruits medium to above-medium size (145-155 g), one-dimensional, round or flat-round shape, smooth surface. Main color light-yellow, with dark-pink stripes covering most of the fruit. Calyx cavity of medium depth and width. Receptacle closed, medium-sized, non-falling.
Flesh juicy, slightly sour-sweet taste, tasting score 4.5 points.
Early fruiting variety, begins fruiting on 4-5th year after planting, high-yielding — up to 400 centners per hectare.
Trees are cold-resistant; after unfavorable winters at minimum temperatures of -35°C (1978/79, 1988/89, 1995/96), frost damage was rated up to 1.5 points. Resistant to fungal diseases: scab and powdery mildew — 0 points in epidemic years.
Advantages of the variety: cold resistance, early fruiting, high yield, one-dimensional and attractive fruit appearance, resistance to fungal diseases.
