VICTORY DAY

The "Victory Day" apple variety is a triploid, high-yielding winter-ripening variety created by crossing the "Veteran" and "Horkout" varieties. The trees are of medium size with a drooping crown of medium density; the main branches are curved and diverge from the trunk at an angle close to a straight line, while the branch tips point upwards. The fruiting type consists of simple and complex ring clusters, which contributes to regular and high yield, reaching 16 tons per hectare.

The fruits of the "Victory Day" variety have an average mass of about 140 grams, are conical in shape, broad-ribbed, and tilted. Their coloring is greenish-red with a red blush, and the flesh is white, greenish-white, of medium density, fine-grained, and juicy. The taste of the apples is determined by the balance of sugars and acids: the sugar content is about 10.7%, acidity is 0.7%, and the sugar-to-acid ratio (S/A) is 15.3, which ensures a harmonious taste. The fruits also contain elevated levels of P-active substances—312 mg per 100 grams.

Harvest maturity occurs in mid-September, while the consumption period lasts from October to mid-March, making the fruits suitable for long-term storage. The variety is recommended for cultivation in the Central-Black-Earth region and is characterized by stable high yield and good fruit storage, making it attractive for gardeners and commercial growing.
