Gnom

Gnom is a mid-season basil variety with a compact, low-growing plant, ideal for growing in pots on balconies and in indoor conditions. The leaves of this variety are dark purple, large, with serrated edges and rich coloring, possess a pleasant aroma and contain a large amount of essential oils, vitamins, and minerals. Thanks to these qualities, basil Gnom is widely used both fresh and dried, serving as a seasoning for salads and various meat dishes.

The plant is characterized by strong branching and resilience, reaching a height of about 40–60 cm with upright, abundantly foliated stems. Basil actively develops and quickly recovers after cutting, has good resistance to high temperatures and prefers moist conditions. Growing is possible both in seedling and without seedling culture: sowing for seedlings is recommended in late March – early April, and in open ground – in May or early June with subsequent transplanting of seedlings in early June at a planting scheme of 30x30 cm.

This variety of basil is suitable for cultivation in open and protected ground throughout the year, which makes it universal and convenient for use both in home conditions and in agriculture. Thanks to its taste and aromatic qualities, as well as high nutritional value, basil Gnom is excellent for sale on the fresh vegetable market and processing into spices.
