Description
Ivanna is an early-maturing, determinate morphotype of buckwheat developed through individual-family selection to enhance productivity and grain quality. Plants reach a height of 91-110 cm, possess good leafiness and branching, with 6-7 nodes on the main stem. The upper inflorescence of the stem ends in a narrowly cylindrical panicle with forked (double) inflorescences. Leaves are broad, medium-thick, flowers are predominantly white, sometimes pale pink. Fruits are large, winged, which contributes to a high dehulling yield.
The Ivanna variety exhibits high technological and milling qualities: 1000-grain weight is approximately 30 g, protein content reaches 15-16%, grain density — 600 g/l, huskiness — 20.1%, and flour yield varies from 78 to 80%. Grain uniformity is within 85-90%, ensuring high-quality final product. Maturation period is 65-75 days, allowing the variety to be used in steppe zones with a short growing season.
Ivanna is recommended for sowing in steppe conditions of Ukraine due to its high resistance to heat and summer drought, ensuring stable yields of 25-30 ц/ha. The variety was registered in the State Register of Plant Varieties of Ukraine since 2009 and is valuable for farmers aiming to obtain high-quality and productive buckwheat yields under challenging climatic conditions.
