Simka

Buckwheat variety "Simka" is a valuable traditional cereal crop distinguished by high nutritional and medicinal properties. This variety is registered in the State Register of Plant Varieties of Ukraine and is characterized by early maturity, uniform ripening, narrow grain-to-stalk ratio, and resistance to lodging and shattering. The technological qualities of the "Simka" variety are high: grain uniformity reaches 90-95%, grain yield is 74-78%, and protein content is about 16%. The potential yield of this variety is 35-40 centners per hectare, making it one of the promising options for cultivation in the agricultural sector. The "Simka" variety was developed by the Institute of Agriculture of the North-East of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine and occupies a significant share of sown areas — over 70% in the region and around 40% nationwide. This buckwheat variety is characterized by high productivity and stable yield, which is due to its resistance to adverse weather conditions and mechanical damage. Moreover, the crop does not require large doses of mineral fertilizers and does not need grain drying, which simplifies cultivation technology and reduces costs. The "Simka" buckwheat prefers a warm and humid climate but successfully adapts to temperate latitudes. It is a honey-producing crop with a prolonged flowering period, which contributes to additional benefits for agriculture. Due to its high domestic demand for buckwheat and ease of cultivation, this variety is popular among farmers. High grain yield coefficient and favorable grain-to-vegetative mass ratio make "Simka" an efficient and profitable choice for producing high-quality buckwheat flour.
