Cardinal

Cinnia "Cardinal" is an annual plant reaching 90 cm in height and 50–60 cm in diameter, upright, spreading, and rounded. The stem is sturdy, with opposite green leaves, oval-shaped with a pointed tip and rigid hairiness, approximately 10×4.5 cm in size. Each shoot typically has one central flower stalk about 30 cm long.

Flowering begins in July after the threat of frost has passed and continues until the first frosts. The average number of inflorescences per plant is between 13 and 17. The inflorescences are double heads about 10 cm in diameter, red in color and without aroma; ray florets are yellow, tubular florets are in the center. The period from sowing to the start of flowering is approximately 70 days.

"Cardinal" is distinguished by its love for sunlight, moisture, and warmth, but it is not frost-hardy. The plant grows quickly, maintains its decorative qualities even under harsh drought conditions, making it an ideal choice for flower beds, garden landscaping, and cut flower arrangements.
