Description
Zinnia 'Polar Bear' – an elegant annual plant reaching up to 70–90 cm in height, bringing sophistication and brightness to the garden thanks to its large hemispherical white flower heads with a diameter of 12–14 cm. The bushes branch densely from the base, creating a dense yet airy appearance.
This heat-loving and light-loving plant grows perfectly in sunny spots in fertile, loose soils. 'Polar Bear' easily withstands drought, although it prefers abundant watering for maximum flowering activity. Seeds are sown in April in seedling trays 0.5 cm deep; at soil temperatures of +22–25 °C, seedlings appear within 7–10 days. After the seedlings emerge, they are pricked out into pots, and then planted out in open ground in early June, maintaining a distance between plants of 30–35 cm.
Thanks to its long and beautiful flowering period (from July to September), 'Polar Bear' is widely used for decorating flower beds, flower gardens, borders, and cut flowers. Its large white flower heads make it an ideal accent in compositions both outdoors and in bouquets.
