EARLY BIRD

Cucumber Early Bird — ultra-early, parthenocarpic, bush-type cornichon, suitable for cultivation both in open and protected ground. Female-flowering plants with limited branching form 2-3 to 5-7 fruits at nodes, with stronger bushiness on side shoots than on the main stem. This hybrid features high initial parthenocarpy and active fruit set even under insufficient soil moisture, ensuring stable yields under various weather conditions.

The fruits of Early Bird cucumber have a warty, white-silky surface with a bright green glossy tint. They are cylindrical, 9-13 cm long, 3.1-4.0 cm in diameter, and weigh 80-120 g. The cucumbers are crisp, aromatic, and juicy, possessing high flavor and pickling qualities without bitterness. Due to these characteristics, the variety is ideal for fresh consumption, preservation, and processing.

To achieve maximum yield, it is recommended to grow Early Bird on well-lit areas and provide both root and foliar feedings, especially in late summer, as intensive fruiting depletes the plants. The hybrid is resistant to olive spot, common cucumber mosaic, powdery mildew, and tolerant to downy mildew, making it a reliable choice for gardeners.
