Eliza

The Eliza F1 cucumber is an early, parthenocarpic, high-yielding hybrid with a vegetative period of 47 to 60 days, depending on growing conditions. The plant develops rapidly, and within the first 2–3 weeks of fruiting, it yields 70–80% of the total harvest. Medium-stemmed plants have a female flowering type with a clustered ovary, forming 3–4 ovaries in the leaf axils. The hybrid is suitable for cultivation in open ground and under plastic cover, demonstrating high resistance to adverse weather conditions, including high temperatures and drought. Eliza cucumber fruits are cylindrical or oval-cylindrical, 6–9 cm long and 80–100 g in weight. Their color is dark green with short, light stripes, and the surface is coarse with white spines. The cucumbers have a dense, crisp texture, no bitterness, and maintain freshness for up to 3.5–4 weeks after harvest without yellowing. Due to their excellent taste, the fruits are suitable for fresh consumption, processing, canning, and pickling. For successful cultivation, use fertile soil with good aeration, to which sawdust or leaves can be added. Sow seeds or transplant 20–25-day-old seedlings at the end of May, planting at a depth of 1.5–2 cm and spacing of approximately 3 plants per square meter. Care includes regular watering with warm water, and every 10 days, combine watering with feeding using manure or urea solution. Plant shaping is performed by pinching above the third leaf, which promotes better development and yield. The hybrid is resistant to major cucumber diseases, including cladosporiosis, ascochytosis, and powdery mildew.
