FRENCH BOY

The 'French Boy' cucumber variety is a fast-maturing parthenocarpic hybrid of the cornichon type with female flowering. The fruits of this variety are small, 6 to 11 cm long, ribbed, white-stemmed, and bright green. They form in clusters of 5–7 fruits per node, giving the plant a grape-cluster effect. Due to their compact size and crisp texture, these cucumbers are ideal for fresh consumption, pickling, and preservation.

This hybrid is characterized by high yield — up to 25 kg per square meter — and early fruiting, which begins as early as day 36–39 after germination. 'French Boy' is sun-loving and develops particularly well under sufficient light, which promotes increased fruit set and higher yields. The plants are resistant to diseases such as powdery mildew, olive spot, and false powdery mildew, making this variety reliable for cultivation under various conditions.

For successful cultivation, use medium-loam, well-aerated soils, and follow agronomic practices: sowing seeds in warmed soil or growing seedlings, regular watering with warm water after sunset, weeding, loosening, and feeding with complex mineral fertilizers. The variety is suitable for cultivation in greenhouses, under plastic covers, and on trellises, allowing efficient use of space and consistent yield throughout the season.
