HARDVICK'S FAVORITE

Cucumber variety HARDVICK'S FAVORITE is a medium-early, bee-pollinated variety with a maturation period of 50-52 days, intended for cultivation under plastic coverings. The plant is indeterminate, vigorous, with mixed flowering and medium-branched structure. Leaves are dark green, and fruits are short, cylindrical, 10-12 cm long and weighing 100-110 g, with a large-bump surface, light stripes, and slight netting. The flesh is juicy, firm, crisp, and free of bitterness, ensuring excellent taste qualities.

The variety is characterized by high yield — 14.5-15.2 kg per square meter — as well as resistance to a number of diseases, including common mosaic virus, olive spot, anthracnose, and powdery mildew. Due to these characteristics, HARDVICK'S FAVORITE has high marketability and is suitable for general use, including as a pollinator.

The variety can be grown both from seedlings and direct sowing in open ground. Seedling sowing is recommended in the first half of April at a depth of 0.5-1 cm, followed by transplanting 15-20-day-old seedlings in early May with row spacing of 50-60 cm and planting holes 30-35 cm apart. In greenhouses, cucumbers are grown on trellises. Direct sowing in open ground is conducted at the end of May to early June at a depth of 1-2 cm. For successful cultivation, regular watering with warm water, surface soil loosening, and fertilization with organic and mineral fertilizers at intervals of 7-10 days are required. Protective measures against diseases and pests may also be applied.
