Illonara

Illonara F1 cucumber — an early, universal parthenocarpic hybrid of cornichon type, developed by the Dutch company Rijk Zwaan. This variety is suitable for cultivation both in open ground and in greenhouses, and is appropriate for the first and second crop cycles. The plant features a strong root system and high productivity, with 1–2 fruits forming in each leaf axil. The development period is 40–45 days, allowing for an early harvest.

The fruits of the Illonara cucumber have a dark green color and a cylindrical shape with large bumps and protruding spines. Fruit length varies from 10 to 14 cm, remaining slender and uniform, not prone to deformation. The flesh is juicy, firm, and crisp, ensuring excellent taste qualities and retaining its properties even after processing. This hybrid is characterized by stable and very high yield, as well as a high proportion of high-quality fruits and resistance to damage after harvest.

For cultivating Illonara F1, it is recommended to use seedling sowing, where seeds germinate at a temperature not lower than +12–+13 degrees Celsius. There are 20–40 seeds per gram, and the weight of 1000 seeds is 25–50 grams. Main care for the plants includes regular watering, weed removal, and fertilization. The hybrid also exhibits resistance to temperature fluctuations and many diseases, making it a reliable choice for gardeners and farmers.
