PUCCHINI

Cucumber Puccini F1 is a medium-maturing parthenocarpic hybrid of bush type, developed by the Dutch breeding company Rijk Zwaan. The maturation period is approximately 40-45 days depending on growing conditions. Plants are characterized by moderate growth rate, strong root system, and high stress resistance, making them suitable for cultivation both outdoors and in enclosed spaces, including indoor conditions.

The fruits of cucumber Puccini have a cylindrical shape with dark green color and excellent internal structure. The average length of the fruits is 8-10 cm, with a length-to-diameter ratio of 3.4:1.0. The weight of one fruit reaches 70-80 grams. The cucumbers are distinguished by high taste quality, lack bitterness, and very high yield of gherkins, making them popular for both fresh consumption and processing.

For successful cultivation at home, it is recommended to use loose, fertile soil with a volume of at least 5 liters per plant, placed in trays or individual pots with drainage holes on south-facing windowsills. Seeds are sown at a depth of 1.5 cm, covered with plastic film or glass, and kept at a temperature of around 25 °C until germination. After that, the film is removed, and the temperature is reduced to 20 °C. When the fourth or fifth leaf appears, it is recommended to pinch the growing tip to promote lateral branches, and tying the plants helps increase the quantity and quality of yield. Regular fertilization is required to maintain growth and development.
