SPUTNIK

Cucumber of the 'Sputnik' variety is a short-fruited, early-maturing, parthenocarpic hybrid with female flowering type, maturing in 40-45 days after emergence. This variety is characterized by high yield, reaching up to 14 kg per square meter, and is primarily intended for cultivation in plastic greenhouses. The plant has grouped fruiting, which promotes abundant fruiting in the early period, and the first nodes do not need to be pinched.

The fruits of the 'Sputnik' cucumber are 9-11 cm long, emerald green, and have a medium ribbed surface. They feature dense, crisp flesh without bitterness, making them especially appealing for fresh consumption. Due to their good transportability and ability to maintain high marketability without color change, these cucumbers are also suitable for canning.

Sowing seeds is recommended in greenhouses in April-May, and transplanting 25-35-day-old seedlings should be done at the end of May. The harvest can be collected throughout the summer, ensuring a steady supply of fresh and high-quality cucumbers.
