YAMAL

YAMAL — an early-maturing parthenocarpic cucumber hybrid, intended for cultivation in open ground and plastic greenhouses. The plant is compact, medium-branched, female-flowering, and forms 1-2 fruits per node. The fruits are 8-10 cm long, green with light stripes, covered with large bumps of sparse and medium density. The fruits are dense, juicy, and crunchy, making them particularly appealing for fresh consumption, as well as for pickling and preserving. Yield reaches 10-12 kg per square meter.

The hybrid is distinguished by high resistance to powdery mildew, cold tolerance, and stress resistance, ensuring stable fruiting even under adverse weather conditions. The crop is heat- and light-loving, and tolerates sharp temperature fluctuations. The plant is determinate, compact, about 40-45 cm tall, which facilitates care and harvest.

For successful cultivation of YAMAL, medium loamy, well-aerated, and fertile soils are recommended. Seeds are sown into soil heated to 15-18 °C at a depth of 1-2 cm, with covering the rows with plastic film to retain warmth and moisture. For seedling production, seeds are sown at a depth of 0.5-1 cm at 25 °C, then the temperature is lowered to 15 °C after germination. Seedlings are transplanted into the ground after the threat of frost has passed. During cultivation, regular care is required, including weeding, loosening, watering with warm water after sunset, and 2-3 feedings with complex mineral fertilizers to ensure full nutrition of the plant. Harvesting is performed as fruits ripen.
