Marathon Dill is a mid-late variety intended for growing greens both in open ground and in greenhouse conditions. The period from germination to harvest ranges from 40 to 52 days, which allows obtaining fresh greens in relatively short periods. The plant is characterized by an elevated and compact leaf rosette, with a height of about 48 cm and a diameter of up to 35 cm. Leaves are bright green, rhomboid in shape, strongly dissected, with a waxy coating of medium intensity, which gives them additional stability and an attractive appearance. The dill stem is of medium length and diameter, covered with a waxy coating, which contributes to protection against diseases and improves product preservation. The plant has a strong aroma, which makes it in demand in cooking for preparing salads and other dishes. The mass of one plant at harvest for greens varies from 90 to 200 grams, which ensures high yield — on average 240-260 centners per hectare. Marathon Dill is resistant to root rot, and the sturdy leaf petiole prevents lodging, which facilitates harvest collection and transport. Marathon Dill seeds are suitable for professional and industrial growing, including greenhouse complexes and large enterprises. The recommended sowing rate in open ground is 2-3 kg per hectare. The plant requires sufficient lighting and regular watering for optimal growth.
