Description
The 'Volgograd Embroidery' dill variety is an early-maturing and high-yielding variety with compact, densely foliated bushes. The plants have dark green leaves with a light waxy coating and a strong aroma, making this dill particularly valuable for use both fresh and dried. The weight of one plant at harvesting for greens is 30-40 grams, and for spices is 70-80 grams, with the commercial yield of greens reaching 4-4.2 kg per square meter. The variety is resistant to bolting and retains the commercial phase for a long time, allowing harvest collection over a prolonged period.
Growing Volgograd Embroidery dill requires adherence to certain agricultural technical conditions. Seeds are sown in open ground at a depth of 1-3 cm, starting from mid-April to early May, with an interval of 10-15 days to obtain a continuous harvest. Winter sowing is also possible at the end of October to early November for an earlier green collection. The plant prefers light loamy or sandy-loam soils, is demanding on soil fertility and moisture, and is also light-loving and cold-hardy.
Care for dill includes regular watering, weeding, loosening, and fertilizing, which contributes to high yield and green quality. Due to the high content of essential oils and strong aromaticity, the Volgograd Embroidery variety is universal in application and suitable for use both fresh and for drying, making it an excellent choice for home and commercial cultivation.
