The VIKAR eggplant variety belongs to the early-maturing group and is intended for growing both in open ground and under film coverings. The plants are compact, semi-spreading, 60 to 100 cm tall, with well-branched stems that have an anthocyanin coloring. Bushes are characterized by weakly expressed thorns on the fruit calyx, which facilitates harvest collection. Due to their compactness and cold resistance, the variety is especially suitable for growing in northern regions with sharp fluctuations in temperature and humidity. VIKAR eggplant fruits have a pear or shortened-pear shape, 15 to 20 cm long and weighing about 150-200 g. The maturation period is from 100 to 115 days from germination to technical maturity, making it one of the earliest among eggplants.
