Frame Engineering and Coulter Design

The core of the "Fermerskaya 8" seeder is a reinforced structural steel frame, designed for both minimum-till and conventional tillage practices. The key design choice here is the use of staggered double-disc coulters. This geometry creates a "scissor effect," allowing the discs to slice through crop residues efficiently without clogging—a critical factor when planting in dry or less-than-perfectly prepared soil. The assembly features sealed bearings with heavy-duty dust covers, preventing abrasive field grit from compromising internal components during peak season operation.

Precision Metering

The seeding system utilizes a fluted roller mechanism with individual section adjustment. A significant technical advantage is the availability of interchangeable rollers for different seed fractions (cereals, legumes, fine seeds). This allows for seed rate adjustment from 2 to 400 kg/ha without needing to replace the entire drive shaft. The roller drive is powered by a chain transmission with a variator, ensuring smooth operation and eliminating uneven seed flow when tractor PTO speeds fluctuate.

Depth Control

The packing and depth control unit consists of dual rubberized press wheels. These serve a dual purpose: they ensure each section follows the soil contour precisely and maintain a consistent planting depth. Depth adjustments are controlled via a screw mechanism that locks the coulter position relative to the press wheel, guaranteeing uniform seed placement even when crossing patches of compacted soil.
