The 'Mertcishor' fennel, developed by the Research Institute of Agriculture of Crimea, is a mid-season variety engineered for high-quality production. Agronomic Requirements

The efficiency of 'Mertcishor' cultivation is heavily dependent on plant density management. To ensure the formation of a dense, well-developed bulb (the thickened stem base), the recommended planting density is 6–8 plants per square meter. Exceeding this density range often results in premature stem elongation and decreased marketability, while lower densities result in poor land-use efficiency and reduced economic returns per hectare.

Development and Cultivation

This variety exhibits consistent performance under varying environmental conditions. Water management is critical during the bulb development stage; moisture stress can lead to increased fiber content in the tissue, significantly degrading the sensory quality of the crop.
