Maximizing Cereal Yields: The Role of Aloha Fungicide

In intensive cereal farming, effective disease management is not just an option—it is a requirement. Aloha, a systemic fungicide produced by ALBAUGH TKI d.o.o. (Slovenia), offers a robust solution for protecting winter and spring cereals against a wide range of fungal threats. Based on tebuconazole, this product is a staple in many agronomic programs focused on crop protection and quality preservation.

The systemic nature of Aloha allows the active ingredient to move through the plant's vascular system shortly after application. By inhibiting the biosynthesis of ergosterol in fungal cells, it prevents the development of mycelium, effectively halting the infection process even after initial symptoms have appeared.

Practical Field Application

• Foliar Disease Control: The primary use case for Aloha is the management of Septoria, Pyrenophora, and various rusts (yellow, brown, and stem). Applying the product during the stem elongation stage is critical to protecting the flag leaf—the engine of crop productivity.
• Ear Health: For wheat, using Aloha during the flowering phase is a standard practice to curb Fusarium head blight, which directly impacts grain quality and minimizes the risk of mycotoxin accumulation.
• Powdery Mildew Mitigation: Due to its rapid systemic uptake, Aloha is highly effective at stopping the progression of powdery mildew in infected fields.

Formulated as an aqueous emulsion, Aloha mixes easily into tank combinations with insecticides or micronutrients, saving fuel and labor hours during peak spraying windows. With a recommended application rate of 0.1–0.25 L/ha, growers can tailor the intensity of the treatment to the specific disease pressure observed in the field.

As a Class 3 hazard product, it is well-suited for standard agricultural machinery and requires standard PPE. By planning up to two applications per season, farmers can ensure a multi-layered protection strategy that keeps crops healthy from the early stages of development through to harvest, ultimately resulting in a cleaner, higher-yielding crop.
