The efficacy of MAXIMO, W.P. is rooted in the synergistic combination of two active ingredients: mancozeb and metalaxyl. This formulation integrates contact and systemic properties, providing a multi-layered defense strategy for potato fields against late blight (phytophthora) and early blight (alternaria).

Technical analysis of the formulation

• Metalaxyl (phenylamide group): Acts as a systemic agent. Once absorbed by the plant tissues, it translocates through the plant, protecting both existing growth and new vegetative tissue. It inhibits fungal protein synthesis and mycelial development, providing curative potential.
• Mancozeb: Functions as a broad-spectrum contact fungicide. It creates a protective layer on the leaf surface, effectively disrupting the metabolic processes of pathogens. Its inclusion is critical for anti-resistance management, ensuring the longevity of the systemic component’s efficacy.

Supplied as a wettable powder, the product is designed for stable suspension in spray tanks. When mixed with water, the particles distribute evenly, ensuring high coverage and uniform deposition on the leaf canopy.

Application guidelines

Manufactured by Sharda Worldwide Exports Pvt. Ltd., this product requires a dosage rate of 2–2.5 kg/ha. Adherence to a maximum of three treatments per season is essential for optimal crop management. To ensure chemical safety at harvest, a 20-day pre-harvest interval must be observed. The product is categorized as a Class 3 hazard, mandating the use of standard protective gear and protocols during mixing and application.
