Growing Experience with Ipomoea «Tsyganochka»

The variety handles this task perfectly: the vine aggressively claims its supports, creating a dense green screen. In our experience, maximum efficiency for vertical gardening is achieved by installing a mesh with cells no larger than 10 cm — «Tsyganochka» clings to it willingly and does not require daily tying.

Field Characteristics and Aesthetics

• Growth Dynamics: The plant shows high germination energy. After planting in the soil, the vine gains vegetative mass literally before your eyes.
• Blooming: A flower diameter of 7–10 cm is not a marketing claim; they are genuinely large, with a rich, deep hue that justifies the name of the variety.
• Resilience: Despite the general fragility of the species, «Tsyganochka» has shown good resistance to wind loads, which is important when used on open trellises.

Agronomic Recommendations

To achieve the maximum decorative effect, we recommend following a standard irrigation schedule. Although Ipomoea is considered drought-tolerant, regular watering is critical for «Tsyganochka» specifically — with a lack of moisture, the flower diameter noticeably decreases, and blooming becomes less prolific. It is important to remember the need for periodic fertilization: if the soil is too rich in nitrogen, the plant focuses on foliage at the expense of buds. In our farm, we use complex potassium fertilizers to maintain the vibrancy of the blooms.
