IZMAILOVSKIY SEMKO

Izmailovskiy Semko – coriander (kervel), belonging to day-length plants, blooms quickly: from full germination to flowering it takes only 15–20 days, and seed maturation takes 110–130 days. Leaves are green, pinnatisect and delicate, emitting a pleasant anise aroma; the stem reaches a height of 70–75 cm, and the flowers are white and small.

The variety is shade-tolerant and cold-hardy, which allows growing it both in open ground and in greenhouses, hotbeds or even on a windowsill. To obtain greens, seeds are sown early in spring with intervals of 10–14 days; greens are ready for harvest 30–50 days after sowing.

In home cooking, fresh coriander leaves are used as a spicy seasoning before flowering, adding a slight anise hue to dishes. During dry periods, the plant requires regular watering – without it, greens become tough and stems appear prematurely. Izmailovskiy Semko is suitable for growing in various conditions thanks to its resistance to low temperatures and ability to grow under frequent wetness.
