Technical Analysis of the PZS Series

The sunflower header series from Khersonmash is engineered specifically for the challenges of harvesting high-yield hybrids. The core of this unit is its row-independent cutting system. Unlike row-bound headers, the PZS working units are not constrained by planting spacing, allowing the combine to navigate the field with any trajectory. This flexibility is crucial for irregular fields or when harvesting crops planted with different machinery widths.

Cutting Mechanism and Lifters

The work zone features extended conical lifters designed to minimize seed shatter. Their geometry gently lifts lodged crops and guides the sunflower heads directly into the cutting path. The cutting system utilizes a high-efficiency reciprocating knife drive, which minimizes vibrations during high-speed operation, thereby preventing seed loss caused by excessive header agitation.

Auger Feed System

The transport auger features an increased diameter to prevent plugging, even when working with high-moisture stalks. The auger flighting is configured to ensure consistent, uniform flow into the combine’s feeder house. This directly impacts threshing stability: preventing uneven loading reduces stress on the threshing drum and the combine's transmission, significantly increasing the equipment's lifespan.
