MEYER

The "Meyer" variety is a popular and high-yielding lemon, valued in both horticulture and indoor cultivation for its ornamental properties and high-quality fruits. The tree reaches a height of 0.8–1.6 m, has a round, compact crown with a diameter of up to 0.9 m, making it ideal for growing in containers. Fruiting begins by the third or fourth year after planting, while the fruits are large, oval-shaped, weighing from 70 g to 210 g, bright yellow in color, with a tart-sweet flavor having a sweeter note compared to other varieties. During flowering, the tree emits rich fruity and citrus aromas, and white, fragrant blossoms appear in March–April.

"Meyer" is distinguished by high resistance to pests and diseases: whiteflies, mealybugs, spider mites, aphids, and scale insects pose no serious threat. With proper care, the plant easily tolerates warm, dry air in living spaces but requires good lighting and regular air humidification. Watering is performed daily from May until the beginning of autumn, then every 3–4 days; humidity is maintained by misting leaves with water at elevated temperatures.

For optimal fruiting, complex mineral fertilizers are used: young bushes – every 6 weeks, adults – every 20–30 days. Repotting is done when roots begin to emerge from drainage holes. "Meyer" is easily propagated by cuttings and is self-pollinating, making it a convenient choice for both beginners and experienced gardeners. Adult plant height is 0.8–1.6 m, crown diameter up to 0.9 m, while sapling height is 15–25 cm, allowing for quick results in cultivation.
