Description
Lily "HOT SUMMER LILY" – a tubular perennial hybrid ranging from 110 to 120 cm in height, distinguished by its bright and saturated flower coloration. The inflorescences have a raceme-like shape, typically containing 6–8 buds in each, with 4–5 opening simultaneously. Petals measuring 12–20 cm in diameter feature a yellow-orange hue with a characteristic chocolate-brown speckling on the exterior, creating a funnel-shaped flower effect reminiscent of a gramophone. The flowers are directed downwards and slightly curved outward, giving the plants an elegant appearance.
The lily possesses a strong aroma, which intensifies during the full flowering period – from July 5th to the end of August. Throughout this time, the inflorescences maintain their color brightness, although slight fading is possible after prolonged sun exposure. The plant is resilient to adverse weather conditions: heat tolerance and winter hardiness allow its use in most climate zones, except for Siberia and the Far North.
To ensure successful cultivation, full solar illumination and well-drained soil are required. The optimal mixture consists of 40% loam, 30% sand, and 30% organic matter. The lily withstands temperatures ranging from -25 °C to +35 °C, but it is crucial to avoid over-wetting to prevent root rot. It is recommended to plant in open garden areas where the plant can develop freely and display its vibrant flowers.
