Description
Gumi Moneron – a compact shrub with a height ranging from 1.5 to 2 meters, featuring a dense, wide crown and elongated silver foliage that gives the plant an impressive appearance. Blooming occurs in late May–early June: small cream-white flowers emit a pleasant aroma, attracting pollinators.
Moneron's fruits are large, oval berries of bright red color with a slight silver bloom. They reach 2–3 cm in diameter and weigh about 2 g, while the flesh is juicy, tart-sweet with fruity notes. The fruits ripen in July and do not fall off even when overripe, which ensures easy harvest collection.
The variety is characterized by high yield: up to 15 kg of berries can be collected from a single shrub. Moneron is drought-resistant due to a powerful root system, withstands frosts down to –30 °C, and does not require special soil conditions, growing well on both fertile and poor soils. The fruits are rich in vitamins, antioxidants, anthocyanins, pectins, and amino acids, making them a valuable dietary product.
The shrub is easily pruned, allowing it to be shaped according to the owner's wishes. Thanks to high resistance to diseases and pests, Moneron is a reliable choice for gardening in various climatic conditions.
