BEZHOZ

The species of the oil poppy BEZHOZ (Papaver somniferum L.) is a high-performance product for the food and confectionery industry. The plant reaches a height of about 96 cm, and the mass of 1000 grains is 0,49 g, which indicates compact growth and high yield. The oil content of the seeds reaches 43%, providing a rich source of oil for further processing.

BEZHOZ differs in its attractive appearance: petals are pink with characteristic purple spots, and the seeds themselves are white. The variety was included in the state register of breeding achievements and registered in 2010, which confirms its stability and quality. The average yield is 17,0 c/ha, and the plant is resistant to helminthosporiosis – one of the most common diseases of poppy.

The variety was developed by a group of scientists: Dolzhenko Dmitry Olegovich, Semёnova Elena Fedorovna and others, and patent rights belong to the Penza Research Institute of Agriculture and the Federal Research Center of the All-Union Institute of Genetic Resources of Plants named after N.I. Vavilov. Thanks to these efforts, BEZHOZ provides a stable and high-quality product for industry, meeting the requirements of both domestic and foreign markets.
