Description
SARATOVSKOE 6 — a medium-maturing proso variety, created at the Southern Urals Agricultural Research Institute and registered in the State Register of Breeding Achievements. The variety has a vegetation period ranging from 70 to 105 days, which is 4-5 days shorter compared to the Golden variety. The pedigree includes the lines Golden and Sangvineaum 18-98, while the botanical variety belongs to the Aureum group. The variety is adapted to harsh arid regions, making it in demand for cultivation in the North Caucasus and Lower Volga regions.
One of the distinguishing features of SARATOVSKOE 6 is the almost simultaneous ripening of the ear and the drying of the vegetative mass, which allows for effective direct combine harvesting. The variety is characterized by high lodging resistance, exceeding standard indicators by 1 point, and is also resistant to drought, melanosis, and scab races. The mass of 1000 grains varies from 7.7 to 9.5 grams, indicating high grain quality.
SARATOVSKOE 6 demonstrates high yield, with maximum indicators reaching 54.3 centners per hectare. Economic indicators of the variety are also high: collection of high-quality grain per hectare ranges from 2.0 to 4.9 tons. Thanks to its characteristics and adaptation to various climatic conditions, the variety is widely used in agricultural production, ensuring stable and quality harvests.
