Atlant

The mogara variety 'Atlant' is a mid-season and drought-tolerant option, developed within a hybrid population ♀ chumiza (Strela × Vir k-145) × ♂ Mogara (Vir k-3672 × Strela). The plant is upright, moderately bushy, and reaches a height of 133–137 cm. Stems are round with a thickness of 5–7 mm; leaves are lanceolate, measuring 30–60 cm in length and 1.0–2.5 cm in width. The panicle is spindle-shaped, 14–22 cm long, with strongly reduced awns—their near absence reduces negative impact on the animals' gastrointestinal tract, making the plant particularly valuable for feed production.

'Atlant' is characterized by accelerated initial growth: it emerges 16 days earlier than the standard Stamo and matures 12 days earlier. The vegetation period lasts 103–107 days, allowing the plant to be used at any developmental stage—from green fodder to hay, haylage, and silage. The grain is oval, cream-colored, with a 1000-grain weight of 3.2–3.4 g (0.6 g heavier than standard varieties). The grain contains 14% protein and 6% oil; hulling is 0.9% lower, while natural density is 37 g higher.


Thus, 'Atlant' represents a high-yielding, fast-growing variety with excellent feed properties, suitable for a wide range of agricultural applications—from green fodder and haylage to silage and poultry farming.
