Maneuverability and Performance

When you take the TEXAS TX 602TG out to the field, you immediately feel the Danish approach to ergonomics. This isn't a heavy-duty beast that needs to be wrestled; it's a responsive tool designed for tilling and row-crop cultivation. The Powerline TG 625 engine provides steady torque, and importantly, it doesn't bog down at mid-range RPMs when tackling dense soil. Starting is reliable—usually on the first or second pull, even after a long winter storage, which, for me, is the best indicator of a quality carburetor and ignition system.

Handling and Comfort

Operation is intuitive; every lever is within reach, so you never feel like you're overextending. The balance is excellent, with a low center of gravity that prevents hand fatigue during long hours of plowing or cultivating. There is some vibration in the handles, but it is manageable if you adjust the depth control rod correctly. The clutch engages smoothly, preventing the transmission from taking those harsh shock loads that lead to premature wear.

Maintenance and Serviceability

• Air Filter: Requires attention every 20 hours if working in dry conditions. Access is tool-free and simple.
• Oil Changes: The drain plug is positioned perfectly; the oil drains completely without needing to tip the machine over.
• Gearbox: Generally low-maintenance, but keep an eye on the seals. If they start to weep, tighten or replace them immediately to keep grit out of the gear casing.

The drive belt is a wear item. I suggest keeping a high-quality spare on hand. While the original belt lasts a long time, generic replacements from a local hardware store might let you down right in the middle of the season. Otherwise, this is a predictable, workhorse machine that rewards you for using clean oil and keeping the tines clear of roots and debris.
