The core of the Zubr GN-2 is a high-torque diesel engine designed to deliver consistent power at low RPMs. This is the deciding factor for working on dense, clay-heavy soils where gasoline counterparts often struggle. Power is delivered via a multi-plate oil-bath clutch, which effectively minimizes energy loss and significantly extends the service life of the drivetrain components through constant lubrication and cooling.
Gearbox Performance
Unlike entry-level models utilizing chain drives, the GN-2 features a robust gear-driven transmission. Bevel gears are engineered to handle high torque loads without the risk of chain stretching or mechanical failure. The cast-iron gearbox casing serves a dual purpose: it provides the necessary weight for deep soil penetration and acts as a vibration dampener, reducing operator fatigue during long operational hours.
Field Maneuverability and Control
The steering column is adjustable in both height and lateral angle, allowing the operator to walk outside the furrow to avoid treading on freshly tilled soil. The axle unlocking system ensures the unit remains nimble, allowing for effortless turns in tight headlands despite the unit’s overall weight. With an integrated power take-off (PTO) shaft, the machine supports a wide array of active implements, effectively transforming it into a versatile mobile farming system for everything from mowing to heavy-duty cultivation.
