A reliable diesel-powered machine with a cast-iron gearbox, built for tough tilling and heavy-duty work.
Description
A workhorse for heavy soils
Stepping into the field with the Zubr HT-105, you immediately notice the lack of cheap plastics—it is all cast iron and solid steel. The 6 hp diesel engine pulls steadily, especially if you take the time to set the tilling depth correctly. On heavy clay, this machine remains predictable; the weight is sufficient to ensure the cutters dig in without bouncing across the surface.
Control and comfort
The steering column is adjustable in two planes, which is a lifesaver for your back when working near fences or in narrow rows. Vibration is present, but that is the trade-off for honest diesel torque. The gear shift lever is well-positioned, and the gearbox (2 forward, 1 reverse) shifts cleanly with no effort to find neutral.
Maintenance and serviceability
The design is as simple as a hammer. Changing oil in the gearbox and engine takes less than thirty minutes. The oil-bath air filter requires attention, but in dusty conditions, it protects the piston group effectively. Spare parts are easy to find, from drive belts to clutch cables. Notably, the belt drive acts as a safety fuse; if the tines hit a rock, the belt simply slips, keeping the gearbox intact.
- Fuel consumption: about 0.5–0.7 l/h under heavy load.
- Starting: the recoil starter requires a bit of technique, but with a functional decompressor, it starts consistently.
- Transmission: a gear-driven reducer that is very forgiving for beginners.
The Zubr HT-105 is a tool for those who value solid construction and the ability to maintain their equipment without constant trips to the repair shop.
