Description
The Peony variety 'Pahmenti A.S. Sakharova' is a hybrid variety created by scientists of Bashkiria and included in the State Register of the Russian Federation. This variety is recommended for cultivation in the central region of Russia due to its high adaptability to local climatic conditions. The peony bush reaches a height and diameter of about 60 cm, has a medium-leafy, compact, and closed appearance at the full flowering stage. Leaves are long, glossy, moderately olive-green with a short reddish-brown petiole. Stems are of medium thickness without anthocyanin coloration.
Peony flowers are anemone-shaped, bomb-shaped, about 15 cm in diameter, with a strong pleasant aroma. Petals are deep reddish-purple, outer ones round with an entire margin, inner ones lanceolate, long and narrow with a divided margin. Flower coloration is resistant to sun bleaching. The flowering period lasts about 15 days, which allows enjoying the decorative effect for a sufficiently long time.
The variety is distinguished by high resistance to diseases and pests, as well as good winter hardiness, drought resistance, and heat tolerance. These qualities make it particularly attractive to gardeners in the central region of Russia. Peony 'Pahmenti A.S. Sakharova' combines the original shape and color of full-flowered flowers with reliability and unpretentiousness in care, which confirms its popularity and value among new peony varieties.
