Upon seed contact, this beneficial fungus creates a colony that solubilizes fixed phosphorus (bound by calcium, iron, or aluminum in the soil), making it readily available for root uptake.

Phosphorus is essential for plant energy metabolism, yet its mobility in soil is significantly reduced in cool, early-season conditions. JumpStart addresses this by secreting organic acids directly in the rhizosphere of the seedling.
