OREDEZH 5 is a spring rape (Brassica napus var. napus) 00 type variety characterized by the absence of erucic acid and low glucosinolate content, making it safe for food and feed use. The variety was developed through hybridization of the Swedish sample WW 405 and the Yamal variety, which provided it with a medium-maturing growing season lasting 85-95 days. Plants are of medium height with blue-green, non-glandular, unwaxed leaves, with a leafiness reaching 50-54%. OREDEZH 5 is distinguished by its resistance to lodging, shattering, and Alternaria, as well as high resistance to Sclerotinia and other diseases. The variety demonstrates high yield potential, exceeding the standard OREDEZH 2 variety by 20-35% in oilseed yield. Seed yield varies across different regions: in the Volga-Vyatka region, the average yield is about 10.8 c/ha, reaching 25.9 c/ha and 20.8 c/ha respectively in the Republic of Mari El and the Perm Krai, and 11.9 c/ha in the Northwestern region. Fat content in seeds is high — about 45.1%, ensuring high oiliness. Additionally, the meal and cake show high protein content, increasing the feed value of the product. OREDEZH 5 is recommended for seed and feed cultivation in the Volga-Vyatka region, and for feed cultivation in the Far Eastern region. Thanks to its agronomic characteristics and resistance to adverse factors, the variety is suitable for cultivation in various climatic conditions. Its use allows obtaining high-quality raw material for the food industry and feed base for animal husbandry, making OREDEZH 5 a universal and economically beneficial choice for agricultural producers.
