Picard

Picard Rapeseed is a mid-early winter hybrid of German selection Lembke, with high yield potential up to 60 ц/ha and high oil content — around 45%. This hybrid is characterized by rapid and dynamic development during the autumn period, ensuring good winter hardiness and successful vegetation recovery in spring. Picard combines early flowering with mid-early maturity, allowing effective use of agroclimatic conditions in various regions.

The hybrid is characterized by high drought and lodging resistance, as well as genetic resistance to turnip yellow virus (TuYV). Moreover, Picard exhibits high resistance to diseases, particularly fusarium and verticillium, and resistance to cabbage yellows due to the use of a new maternal line, AtoRa. High nitrogen uptake efficiency allows the hybrid to adapt to various soil types, including loamy and clay soils, making it suitable for cultivation in the Steppe, Forest-Steppe, and Polissia regions of Ukraine.

To achieve maximum yield, it is recommended to follow optimal sowing dates and rates: early — 400-450 thousand seeds per hectare, optimal — 450-500 thousand, late — 500-550 thousand. Seeds are supplied in bags of 1.5 million units. An important part of the cultivation technology is the application of growth regulators in autumn at the 3-5 leaf stage and in spring at plant height of 10-20 cm, as well as early nitrogen application at a rate of 2 times 70 кг/ha. All these features make Picard rapeseed a reliable and high-yielding choice for farmers aiming to obtain stable and quality harvests.
