KEMIYA

The Kemiya strawberry is a late-season variety of local selection that finishes the June fruiting season and features universal usage. Bushes are medium-sized, sprawling, and hemispherical with good foliage. Leaves are green, crinkled, glossy, with obtuse wide teeth, while runners are of medium length, slightly colored with anthocyanin, and pubescent. Flowers are perfect, white, located on inflorescences of average size, promoting the formation of sprawling multi-flowered clusters. Kemiya berries are conical, symmetrical, neckless, with a smooth dark red surface and shine. The flesh is orange-red, juicy and firm, with a sour-sweet taste and medium sugar content at low acidity. Average berry weight ranges from 9 to 17 grams, with individual berries reaching up to 27 grams. The tasting score for fresh berries is 4.6-4.8 points. Berry density ensures good transportability, making the variety attractive for commercial cultivation. The Kemiya variety is characterized by high yield—during full fruiting, 400-500 grams of berries are harvested per bush, with total yield reaching 12-20 tons per hectare. It possesses high winter hardiness, is resistant to powdery mildew and verticillium wilt, and demonstrates high adaptability to adverse abiotic and biotic factors. Additionally, the variety is characterized by high drought and heat tolerance, expanding its cultivation possibilities under various climatic conditions. Harvesting is conducted over four stages, allowing for efficient organization of the berry picking process.
