Strawberry

Strawberry variety 'Istotsnik' is the result of selection by the Institute of Horticulture of the Ukrainian Academy of Agricultural Sciences, developed based on the varieties 'Pocahontas' and 'Grenadier'. This variety has a medium ripening period and is suitable for cultivation in various climatic zones, including the West Siberian and North Caucasus regions. Medium-sized bushes with semi-spreading growth form, have pale-red medium-thickness runners and large creamy flowers. Flower stems are thick and long, located at leaf level, forming compact multi-flowered inflorescences.

The berries of variety 'Istotsnik' are large, averaging 9 to 14 grams, with first harvest berries reaching up to 28 grams. They have a proper conical shape with a stem, shiny bright red skin, and dense, juicy orange-red flesh. The flavor is tart-sweet with a pleasant aroma, making them an excellent choice for both fresh consumption and processing.

The variety is characterized by high resistance to diseases and pests, as well as good winter hardiness and drought tolerance. Yield reaches up to 2.0 kg per square meter, making 'Istotsnik' a reliable and productive option for gardeners aiming to obtain high-quality and flavorful strawberry harvests.
