Description
The Chara soybean variety is a high-yielding mid-season semi-determinate variety intended for grain production in main and repeated sowings, as well as for resowing other crops. Plants of this variety have an average height ranging from 82.5 to 102 cm, a semi-upright structure, and grey pubescence on the main stem. The flowers are violet, and the pods are light brown with a yellow seed coat without pigmentation. The variety is distinguished by high technological efficiency, resistance to lodging and pod cracking during ripening, which ensures crop preservation and seed quality.
The phenological period of the Chara variety is 100-105 days, which allows it to be successfully grown in various crop rotations, including short-term rotations and monocultures. Grain yield in average rainfall years reaches 2.3-2.7 t/ha, and in wetter years can increase up to 4.0 t/ha. Protein content in seeds varies from 34.8% to 42%, and oil content reaches 22-24%, making this variety attractive for both food and technical raw material production.
Chara soybean has resistance to major diseases, such as false powdery mildew and gray mold, which contributes to yield stability and reduced plant protection costs. Due to its characteristics, the variety is well-adapted to the conditions of the North Caucasus region and ripens by the end of August with optimal sowing dates. High productivity, seed quality, and resistance to adverse factors make the Chara variety a profitable choice for agricultural production.
