EN PROTON is an early-maturing, high-protein soybean variety (Glycine max (L.) Merr), intended for cultivation in various regions of Russia, including the Central and Far East. The variety's vegetative period ranges from 100 to 110 days, allowing for a stable harvest under moderate climate conditions. Soybeans exhibit an indeterminate growth type, with plant heights of 70-80 cm and purple flowers with brown pubescence. Seeds have a mass of 160-180 g per 1000 grains and contain a high level of protein — from 44 to 48% on a dry matter basis, making this variety particularly valuable for producing premium soybean meal and improving the quality of commercial batches.
The EN PROTON variety is distinguished by its high yield, reaching a potential of 39.2 c/ha, while being resistant to major soybean diseases such as downy mildew, septoria, and sclerotinia. High attachment of lower pods (about 12 cm from the ground) helps reduce losses during harvesting. To achieve optimal yield, seed inoculation with rhizobia bacteria and application of nitrogen fertilizers at a rate of 50 kg of active substance is recommended. The recommended plant density at harvest time is about 60 stems per square meter, while row spacing can vary from 12 to 50 cm.
