Description
Kasatka soybean variety is an early-maturing determinate variety with round-elongated yellow seeds and a brown hilum. The plant is characterized by lodging and shattering resistance, has an intermediate form with reddish-brown pubescence. Leaves are light green and small in size, side leaflets are oval-shaped, flowers are purple, and pods are brown. The mass of 1000 seeds varies from 120.8 to 130.5 grams. Protein content in seeds ranges from 27.1 to 41.4%, and fat content from 19.1 to 23.2%. The variety demonstrates good resistance to rust in field conditions.
In terms of agronomy, the Kasatka variety requires optimization of sowing methods and plant density to achieve maximum yield. Studies have shown that with standard row sowing, the optimal density is 600 thousand plants per hectare, which ensures the maximum seed output. With wide-row sowing, the best results are achieved at a density of 500 thousand plants per hectare. Such parameters contribute to effective crop formation and allow the variety to be used under various conditions in the Central Non-Black Earth Region and the Moscow region.
The Kasatka variety is included in the State Register for the Central region and demonstrates a medium yield of about 8.5 centners per hectare, with maximum indicators of up to 17.3 centners, recorded in the Bryansk region. Its productive process can be considered a complex dynamic system where periods of ontogenesis are distinguished by morphological traits, which is important for understanding and managing the agroecology of grain legumes. Due to its characteristics and adaptability, Kasatka is a promising variety for cultivation in regions with similar climatic conditions.
