Ksena

XENA is a variety of soybean (Glycine max (L.) Merr.) with a very early maturity period, recommended for cultivation in the Khabarovsk Krai and other regions of the Far East. The plant is characterized by compactness, a height of about 150-165 cm, and good branching. The leaves are large and dark green, while the inflorescences are racemes with 12-14 small white flowers. The pods are reddish-brown, convex in shape with a characteristic beak, and contain 3-4 round yellow seeds with black-brown pigmentation and an oval hilum with a black eye. The height of attachment of the lower pods above the soil is 16 cm or more, which reduces losses during harvesting.

The mass of 1000 seeds of the XENA variety is about 165 g, protein content in the seeds reaches 36.5-37.6%, and fat content is 21.4-21.7%. The seeds have high germination (about 94%) and germination energy potential (93%). The recommended sowing rate is 500-550 thousand pieces per hectare, optimal density for harvesting is 350-400 thousand pieces, and the row spacing is 56-70 cm. The vegetative period of the variety is 120-130 days, and the yield in the region reaches an average of 21.6 c/ha, with maximum indicators up to 32.4 c/ha.

The XENA variety is resistant to pod splitting and branch breakage, which enhances the reliability and quality of the harvest. Thanks to its characteristics and adaptation to the climatic conditions of the Far East, this soybean variety is a promising choice for agricultural production, ensuring high productivity and seed quality.
