"Odesskaya 124" is a product of the Plant Breeding and Genetics Institute (Ukraine), designed for consistency where other varieties fail to reach their full potential. In Ukrainian conditions, this variety stands out for its plasticity and predictability within a short development cycle.

Agronomic features and plant protection

The primary focus here is early maturity. A 90–100 day vegetation period allows farmers to plan crop rotations with flexibility: the variety is excellent for both early planting and post-harvest double cropping. At the same time, the plant shows a decent immune barrier. PBGI selection has endowed it with high resistance to a complex of diseases, including downy mildew (peronosporosis), septoria, and fusarium, which is critical in regions with high humidity or sharp temperature fluctuations during the ripening period.

Grain quality and economics

Protein content ranges between 35–39%, making "Odesskaya 124" highly sought after in the feed raw materials market. Stable protein accumulation in a short time is a rare combination, achieved through the plant's efficient photosynthetic apparatus.
