Genetic Potential and Biochemical Profile

The «Oriana» soybean variety is a product of extensive breeding by the National Research Center «Institute of Agriculture of NAAS». The primary focus during its development was achieving an optimal balance between the vegetation period and seed quality. A maturity period of 100–110 days allows for broad adaptation across various climatic regions in Ukraine, ensuring efficient harvesting schedules.

Morphological Features and Productivity

The plant height of 60–70 cm is ideal for mechanized harvesting, ensuring minimal header losses and excellent lodging resistance. The compact plant structure improves light distribution within the canopy, which directly impacts pod development and overall yield potential.

Phytopathological Resistance

The main technical advantage of «Oriana» lies in its robust defense against pathogens. Genetic resistance to diseases such as fusarium, powdery mildew, and rhynchosporium significantly reduces the need for chemical treatments. Resistance to leaf rust allows the plants to maintain functional leaf area until physiological maturity, which is crucial for maximizing protein and oil accumulation.

Quality Parameters

• Protein content: 39–41% — a high standard for both feed and food processing.
• Oil content: 20–21% — consistent metrics characteristic of high-performance varieties.

The combination of these parameters makes this variety a versatile asset for producers targeting both export processing markets and internal livestock feed production.
