SELECTA 101

SELECTA 101 — an early-maturing soybean (Glycine max (L.) Merr.) variety, developed by Russian breeders and recommended for cultivation in southern regions of the country, particularly in the North Caucasus region and Stavropol Krai. The plant is indeterminate, medium height, with a semi-compact form and grey pubescence. Leaves are of medium size, with oval or rhomboidal lateral leaflets, green in color. Flowers are white, pods are light brown, and seeds are spherical-flattened, yellow with a yellow hilum. The height of the attachment of the lower pod varies from 10.3 to 22.6 cm. Seeds are small, with a mass of 1000 seeds ranging from 117.7 to 145.1 g.

The variety is distinguished by high resistance to lodging, shattering, and pod cracking upon maturity, ensuring crop preservation. It also shows resistance to diseases such as downy mildew and grey mold, and during years of field trials, no disease damage was observed. High drought tolerance allows for stable yields even in dry years.

The average yield of the variety in the region is 16.2 c/ha, while the maximum yield reached 27.6 c/ha. Protein content in seeds is about 34-36%, and fat content is about 24%, making the variety attractive for the production of high-quality raw materials. SELECTA 101 is well-suited for the technology of multiple sowings, which contributes to the expansion of soybean cultivation areas in southern Russia and the improvement of agricultural production efficiency.
